Hello! It's Alvin
I currently work at Apple as a Sr. Wearables HW Reliability Manager, where I drive products to be more durable since 2012. From launching the 1st generation watch to the 1st generation Vision Pro, I love bringing innovative products to life, all while mentoring engineers, rock tumbling with colleagues, and joking along the way. With my Electrical Engineering background from Cal Poly SLO, I specialize in systems engineering, failure analysis, and architecting elegant solutions to complex problems.
But work is just one small part of me. I'm a large believer in variety being the spice of life, and I'm constantly geeking out, learning and experiencing new topics, activities, and fields of study. Here's a laundry list of some interests of mine: archery, healthspan, DataViz, coding, philosophy, coffee, horology, industrial design, AIML, cars, cryptocurrency, entrepreneurship, hiking, meditation, TaiChi, Stoicism, Buddhism, ultimate frisbee, dancing, mycology, and best for last, food/cooking!
